What to tell visitors before they arrive
Three adaptable messages that keep the household’s existing plan clear.
For a short visit
“Please check with us before offering food or taking over any pet care. We will show you the arrival routine and where to leave bags.” This gives visitors a useful next action without assuming they know the household’s rules.
For an overnight guest
“We will keep the usual care schedule. The current instructions are in the agreed folder, and we will confirm any task we ask you to take over.” Do not send private access details in a message likely to be forwarded.
For someone helping with care
“Before we leave, we will walk through the next task together. Please mark it complete afterward and contact the agreed person if anything is unclear.” Add the actual contact arrangement privately.
Adapt the message, not the care plan
These are editorial templates, not messages from reported households. Use the approach already appropriate for your pet and obtain individual professional guidance for health or behavior concerns. Visitors should not be asked to diagnose, improvise treatment or apply a technique nobody has explained.
