One place for the pet supplies you reach for daily
Build a small working station, with a separate place for things awaiting attention.
Watch one ordinary task
Prepare for the next feed or outing using your current setup. Note every drawer you open and every item you have to move. Put the items used together near the task where safe, rather than sorting everything by how it looks.
Create three simple zones
Ready items belong in the working area. Refill stock belongs nearby but out of the way. Equipment needing cleaning or repair belongs somewhere visibly separate. This prevents a used towel or uncertain fastening from returning to the ready pile by accident.
Label for the second person
Use plain labels that another carer will understand. Retain original product labels and care directions. Keep medicines and cleaning products stored according to their own instructions, away from pets, rather than decanting them into attractive unmarked containers.
Test the handover
Ask another carer to find the ordinary equipment and explain what needs replenishing. If they must ask where everything is, adjust the arrangement. Add one named person and a reorder trigger for consumable supplies.
Keep only what helps
Move occasional travel gear away from the daily station. A small area that stays usable is more valuable than a large cupboard that hides the next job. Revisit the arrangement when the routine changes.
